31st International Federation of Journalists Conference”Congress” kicks off, With Syria’s participation

Muscat, SANA- 31st International Federation of Journalists “Congress” conference kicked off Tuesday in Muscat, with the participation of a delegation representing the Syrian Journalists Union, during which its president Moussa Abdel Nour, was elected a member of the Executive Office of the Asia Pacific Journalists Union.

350 journalists representing unions and press federations from 100 countries are taking part in the conference, in addition to 50 journalists and media professionals representing newspapers, radio and television stations and online newspapers from different countries to discuss several themes relating to espionage on journalists and combating impunity on crimes committed against journalists and media professionals.

During the conference, representatives of Asian and Pacific Journalists Syndicates launched their new regional group, the “Asia-Pacific Journalists Union”, the fourth regional group of the International Federation of Journalists.

The Sultanate of Oman hosts the 31st International Federation of Journalists “Congress” conference, organized by the Omani Journalists Association in cooperation with the Union, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center in Muscat and will last for 4 days.
