Damascus, SANA- Minister of Information, Boutros al-Hallaq, discussed on Wednesday with his Omani counterpart, Abdullah bin Nasser al-Harassi, means of developing media cooperation between the two countries.
The talks, which were held via video, focused on enhancing cooperation in the fields of news exchange, media training, joint drama production, and technical cooperation, in addition to signing agreements between Syrian media institutions and their Omani counterpart, and exchanging visits of media delegations between the two countries.
The two ministers described as deeply-rooted and historic the relations between the two countries, referring to the need for joint coordination in confronting false news and media campaigns that target societies through distorting facts and overturning concepts.
They stressed the importance of implementing what has been agreed upon during this communication and working to coordinate media stances within the frameworks of regional and international cooperation.
Syrian Arab News Agency ( SANA) and the Omani News Agency signed in 2007 a memo of understanding for news cooperation in the field of training and the exchange of media delegations.
