Damascus, SANA – Health Minister Nizar Yazigi asserted that there is no increase in the prices of medicine and pharmaceutical products despite the unjust economic embargo imposed on Syria.
Touring a number of pharmacies in Damascus on Sunday, Yazigi stressed the need to adhere to providing medicine that meets the approved technical standards in terms of packaging and including instructions for usage, in addition to the need for pharmacists to commit to the regulations issued by the Ministry in terms of selling medicine.
He asserted that all the facilitations needed to ensure the continuation of production at local pharmaceutical companies have been provided, which is why local products meet 90% of the market’s needs.
Yazigi affirmed that there’s no need for concern over the state of the local pharmaceuticals market in terms of quality and pricing due to the stringent national policies governing this sector.
