Syrian-Russian talks on boosting health cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Health Minister, Ahmad Damiriyah discussed Tuesday with Russian Deputy Minister of Healthcare, Andrey Plutnitsky and the accompanying delegation means to enhance health cooperation.

Damiriyah underlined that Russia has been always a strategic and loyal partner to Syria and loyal partner to Syria.

He noted that Russian health support was not limited to the aid it provided in times of crisis, but rather extended to effective partnership and close cooperation during the Covid-19 pandemic and the earthquake that struck Syria last year in providing humanitarian aid, sending rescue teams, establishing field hospitals in affected areas, and providing technical and logistical support.

He highlighted the importance of exchanging expertise through conducting training sessions, and cooperation in the field of pharmaceutical industries, as Russia is one of the developed countries in this field.

Plutnitsky, for his part, affirmed the Russian- Syrian cooperation in the health sector, expressing his country’s readiness to receive doctors to conduct training courses, and enhance online medical education.
