Damascus Countryside, SANA-Ministry of Local Administration and Environment, in cooperation with UN organizations, launched a project to enable local communities in Eastern Ghouta to overcome the climate changes and water shortage through an integrated management for the natural resources and the speedy adaptation.
The project, launched on Sunday during a workshop held in al-Mleiha town in Damascus countryside , will be carried out in cooperation with UN organizations like United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat),United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) , with participation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Ministry of Water Resources in addition to Commission of Planning and International Cooperation and the domestic community in the town of al-Mleiha, Der al-Asafir and Marj al-Sultan towns in Eastern Ghouta.
It aims to enhance the capability of the state institutions and the local communities, evaluate the natural resources and managing them, particularly the lands and water in an effective and sustainable method to be able to overcome the climate changes.
