Damascus, SANA – Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All the East Patriarch Gregorios III Laham has affirmed that the future of the world is connected to Syria’s being the country of peace, safety, amity and cooperation, warning against the risks of takfiri ideology not only against Syria but rather the whole world.
Syria will overcome its plight by its people’s cooperation, Patriarch laham added in an interview with the Syrian TV. Tuesday evening.
He called upon clergymen from all sects to fight takfiri ideology and spread principles of tolerance and amity, through boosting religious meetings, increasing awareness and creating a road map for facing takfiri danger.
“On the occasion of Christmas a candle dubbed ‘The Candle of Hope and Peace for Syria” will be distributed and lit in Syria and the region and an initiative with various languages for peace in Syria will also be launched, Laham said.
Patriarch Laham pointed out that expelling Christians from the region aims at creating a takfiri intellect to serve the Israeli interest, calling on Christians to stay in their countries of the Levant.
