Damascus, SANA-In coincidence with holding the Int’l Conference on Return of Refugees, the Russian Humanitarian Mission on Wednesday toured the March 8th Kindergarten in al-Qusour area in Damascus, where they presented a number of schoolbags, gifts, and toys for the children.
In a statement to SANA reporter, Head of the Mission, Sergey Shevchuk said that the mission has been presenting humanitarian aids since 2015 that target the displaced and the school students in Syria.
He indicated that their tour came to support the kindergarten through providing schoolbags and games that develop the mental skills and suit different ages, in addition to various entertainment games and meals served to 120 children in the kindergarten.
Victoria al-Ahmad, from the Russian Cultural Center pointed out that this support is provided by the Russians to the Syrians to bring happiness to their hearts, underlining importance of the Conference on the Return of Refugees that was launched on Wednesday in Damascus in terms of securing the return of the Syrian refugees to their homeland.
For her part, the Assistant Director of the Education Directorate for Basic Education and Vanguards Affairs, Rana Mousilli underlined the importance of this visit and the humanitarian support it provides to the Syrian children.
The Russian mission also visited the Roman Orthodox Church of Mar Elias in al-Duail’a area in Damascus and distributed 200 baskets containing food commodities, cleaning materials and water filters.
