Backed by army’s helicopters and Iranian aircraft, firefighting teams manage to control most of the fires erupted in al-Ghab and Masyaf areas in Hama countryside

Hama, SANA- Loaded with 40 tons of water, a number of the Syrian Arab Amy helicopters, in cooperation with an Iranian aircraft, managed on Wednesday to extinguish large areas of fire which was erupted in the mountainous forest areas in al-Ghab and Masyaf areas, including the fire erupted in the forests of Shatha mountains, and in parallel with the exceptional efforts exerted by the firefighting teams of Hama and a number of Syrian provinces, in addition to the civil defense , the army personnel and the locals.

SANA reporter said that the Army hovercrafts, in cooperation with the Iranian aircraft extended support to the firefighting and the civil defense teams which managed to control most of the fires erupted in the high mountains of Shatha areas, as well as the fire erupted in the forests which are located between al-Hailouneh and Allaqba.

The reporter added that the army hovercrafts and personnel moved to deal with a fire erupted in the mountains of Ayn al-Shams in the western countryside of Hama province as they managed, in cooperation with the Iranian aircraft, to extinguish the fire.

In the forests of Ayn al-Qadib affiliated to Tartous Province and are adjacent to the forests of Shiha village, Masyaf, the fire was completely extinguished due to unifying efforts of the firefighting teams, army personnel, security forces and the interference of the army hovercrafts.

 Following the efforts that were exerted for three days, the firefighting and the civil defense teams managed to put out the fire erupted in Ayn Hlaqim, Hazzour, al-Heker, Bait Atiq almost completely, while the monitoring operations continue for the next 48 hours as a precautionary measure to prevent the eruption of fire and to tackle them immediately, the reporter went on to say.

 Since the beginning of the current month, the western countryside of Hama province has witnessed a number of huge fires that were erupted in the mountains and the forests and destroyed hundreds of hectares of agricultural lands, the woods and the forests of Oaks, conifers and cypress perennials trees, despite the huge efforts exerted by the firefighting and civil defense teams to extinguish those fires.
