Lattakia, SANA – “Social psychological support” program targets children liberated from the northern countryside of Lattakia who were kidnapped by the armed terrorist groups in an attempt to help them overcome the trauma resulted.
The program launched by Autism Association in cooperation with the Syrian Trust for Development creates modern methodologies for making those children express themselves in peaceful and normal way.
Executive Manager of the Association, Jubran Khwanda, clarified that the social support cannot be considered a therapy rather it is a social service, pointing out that the psychological and social support does not require an academic specialization as it requires diverse courses that serve the very issue.
He added that the program focuses on activities and methods that help children enhance their ability to adapt with new situation and overcome their experience peacefully.
The program targets children aged between 3 to 14, as it provides different sorts of activities including painting, sports and communication skills in a weekly meeting at the Cultural Center of Lattakia.
