Global coronavirus infections surpass 9 million

Damascus-SANA- The number of people infected with the novel coronavirus worldwide has surpassed 9 million according new statistics by Worldometer Website which is run by an international team of developers and researchers.

According to the website the number of deaths due to the virus reached 470,821 whereas 48,420,25 people have recovered.

Meanwhile, the different countries all around the world have continued to report new infections and deaths due to the novel coronavirus.

The Indian Ministry of Health said on Monday that 445 new deaths due to the coronavirus were registered, in addition to reporting  14 thousand and 821 new cases over the past 24 hours in different areas across India, bringing the total fatalities to 13,699 and the total cases of infections to 425 thousand and 282.

In turn, South Korea announced registering 17 new infections with the virus, taking the total number of cases to 12 thousand and 438 infections, while the number of deaths remained unchanged at 280 cases.

New Zealand reported on Tuesday two new infections pushing its nationwide active cases total to 9 and all of them have been due to travelling abroad according to the Ministry of Health, while the total number of the confirmed and probable infections has reached 1,511 and the deaths due to the virus reached 22.

Germany have also registered 537 new infections over the past 24 hours as the total of the detected cases has reached up to 19,0539.

In turn Argentina announced that the death toll due to the pandemic has exceeded one thousand, while the number of infected people reached up to 41,191 people, of whom more than a thousand people have died.
