Quarantine and isolation centers in Lattakia…readiness, strict preventive measures

Lattakia, SANA_ Staff working in medical isolation and quarantine centers in the coastal province of Lattakia are making great efforts to confront the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

General Manager of the General Authority of al-Hafah Hospital, Dr. Rami Atira, told SANA reporter that the doctors’ residence at the hospital was converted into a quarantine center.

“The building consists of eight apartments with 28 beds and optimal conditions for inmates,” he clarified.

According to Atira, a full floor in the hospital with 60 beds and an intensive care unit with 24 pulmonary ventilators were assigned to receive the cases with Covid-19.

In turn, Dr. Rabab Hassan, head of the al-Bassel quarantine center, explained that the center has 35 rooms equipped with beds and other necessary equipment, as well as kitchens and bathrooms, to receive suspected cases of Coronavirus.

According to the latest information from the Ministry of Health, Lattakia province is free of infections with the novel Coronavirus and 13 centers were assigned in the province for diagnostic missions before medical isolation.
