Tehran, SANA- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has slammed the international silence towards the unilateral behavior of the U.S. administration which has encouraged it to unilaterally take decisions and violate the international agreements and laws.
In a speech on Monday, Zarif asserted that targeting cultural sites is an unforgivable war crime, adding that the U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to target Iranian cultural sites is a symbol of the “international cultural terrorism and a continued violation of the international laws.”
He noted that the attack against cultural sites is an attack against humanity and history.
Earlier, Trump has threatened to target 52 Iranian sites, if Iran retaliates to the crime of assassinating Lt. General Qassem Soleimani and Deputy chairman of popular mobilization commission Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and their companions near Baghdad International Airport on Jan. 3rd.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also reiterated that the crime of assassinating Soleimani is an international crime.
