Damascus, SANA – The Leonids meteor shower, caused by the Earth crossing paths with the dust particles left by the Tempel-Tuttle comet, will be visible on Monday night.
Head of the Syrian Astronomical Society Mohammad al-Asiri told SANA that this phenomenon, caused by the dust particle from the comet entering Earth’s atmosphere, will peak on Monday night until dawn on Tuesday.
He said the meteor shower is named after the constellation Leo which is visible in the background of the shower, adding that the shower will be visible in the north-northeastern direction, peaking at 12:36 AM on Tuesday.
