Lattakia commercial port reopened for maritime navigation

Lattakia, SANA-The General Directorate for Ports on Thursday morning announced that Lattakia commercial port was reopened for maritime navigation due to the improvement in the weather conditions after being closed due to bad weather.

Head of Ports General Directorate Gen. Ammar Makhlouf said in a statement to SANA’s reported that “Only Lattakia commercial port was reopened while the other ports will remain closed till the improvement of the prevailing weather conditions.”

Makhlouf called on ships and boats to take safety precautions followed in such cases in order to avoid any accidents.

Last Tuesday, the ports of Tartous and Lattakia and the port of Banias oil downstream were closed due to the high speed of the wind which reached up to 90 km/h.
