Cabinet: Increasing efforts to monitor markets and take actions against transgressors

Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet on Sunday discussed efforts to ensure that the recent decrees on raising wages and pensions improve the living conditions of citizens, stressing the need to increase efforts to monitor markets and take actions against transgressors and those who monopolize products.

During a weekly session chaired by Prime Minister Imad Khamis, the Cabinet tasked the Internal Trade Ministry with increasing the available products at the Syrian Trading company outlets.

The Cabinet approved a plan by the Petroleum Ministry for developing the work of the Geology General Establishment, in addition to discussing a bill on granting the Housing General Establishment a loan of SYP 5 billion to launch housing projects.

The Cabinet also approved an advance payment of SYP 3.5 billion per month to the Social Insurance General Establishment as of the start of 2020 for ensuring the payment of living compensation for pensioners.
