Damascus, SANA – The Embassy of Cuba in Damascus held a reception on Sunday evening at the Ambassador’s residence on occasion of the 54th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Cuba and Syria.
In a speech, Ambassador of Cuba Miguel Porto Parga said that Syria and Cuba share bonds of solidarity and resistance against the threats of the US and its allies, affirming his country’s support for Syria’s right to preserve its sovereignty and independent decision making and its struggle to liberate every inch of its territory.
In a statement to journalists, Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Sousan said that throughout history, Syria and Cuba have been targeted by the US, stressing the need to enhance bilateral relations to confront the US economic terrorism.
