Damascus, SANA – Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem on Thursday received China’s Special Envoy for Syria, Xie Xiaoyan, and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting dealt with the strong bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the assertion on the importance of the constant coordination between them in all levels in a way that contributes to upgrading the relations to the strategic level as aspired by leaderships of both countries.
The meeting also touched upon the latest developments in Syria and the region as the two sides’ viewpoints were in agreement on the importance of going ahead in counterterrorism in Syria as to confront the danger of the terrorist organizations on security and stability of the region and the whole world in parallel with achieving advance in the political process to solve the crisis in Syria.
Al-Moallem presented a detailed overview of the latest political and field developments in Syria, particularly the outcomes of the talks with UN special envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen with regards to the Constitutional Committee and the heroic operations of the Syrian Arab Army and its allies in confronting the terrorist organizations positioned in the northern countryside of Hama and southern countryside of Idleb.
Al-Moallem stressed that Syria will not retract confronting the terrorist organizations of all their forms until liberating every inch of the Syrian territories and restoring security and stability to the country in spite of the blatant Turkish intervention as to rescue the terrorist groups and in spite of the US occupation of some Syrian territories in a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty.
He pointed out to the importance Syria attaches to its relation with China and to Syria’s appreciation of China’s stance in support to war against terrorism and of its pivotal role in the international and regional arenas.
He also reviewed the efforts exerted by the Syrian government to secure the needs of the citizens and secure the requirements of reconstruction, particularly in light of the difficulties imposed by the “economic terrorism” and the unilateral coercive measures adopted by the US and its allies on Syria.
For his part, China’s Special Envoy stressed China’s principled and firm stance in support to Syria’s right in combating terrorism, voicing the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army.
Xie Xiaoyan reviewed the outcomes of the talks held in Tehran and Geneva during the past days with senior Iranian officials and the US Special Envoy to Syria, stressing rejection of foreign interference in Syria’s internal affairs and the importance of achieving advance in the political process.
He expressed China’s keenness on going ahead in developing relations with Syria in different spheres and keeping on coordination between the two countries as well as supporting the efforts exerted by the Syrian government for the reconstruction process and securing the return of the Syrian refugees to their country and providing all possible assistance for this regard.
In the same context, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad reviewed with China’s Special Envoy for Syria and the accompanying delegation the relations binding the two friendly countries and means of boosting them in all spheres.
Mikdad reviewed the latest developments related to the crisis in Syria, thanking the Chinese leadership and people for standing by Syria’s side in its war against terrorism.
He also voiced the humanitarian aid provided by China to Syria to consolidate the steadfastness of the Syrian people in facing unilateral economic measures imposed by the US and its allies.
Mikdad pointed out to the conspiracies conducted by some Kurdish political organizations aiming at implementing the US policy in the northeast of Syria , affirming that the US- Turkish conspiracies have sought to impede the political solution since the beginning of the crisis in Syria with support of their tools and agents in the region.
For his part, China’s Special Envoy for Syria reiterated his country’s support to Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, affirming China’s commitment to non –interference policy in others countries’ affairs.
He called for exerting more efforts to achieve an advance in the political process to resolve the crisis in Syria in line with combating terrorism in the country.
