Cabinet reviews preparations for 61st Damascus International Fair

Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet discussed the final preparations and arrangements for launching the 61st edition of Damascus International Fair, reviewing the efforts to ensure its success.

During a weekly Cabinet session on Sunday chaired by Prime Minister Imad Khamis, Economy and Foreign Trade Minister Mohammad Samer al-Khalil said that preparations have been completed for the Fair, and that the reserved area has reached 100,000 square meters for the first time since the launch of the Fair, with 1,500 companies participating in it.

The Cabinet also reviewed the mechanism for implementing the development plan for Daraa and Quneitra provinces, allocating SYP 1 billion to begin carrying out work on infrastructure in the zoning plans of Quneitra province.

The Cabinet stressed the need to continue implementing the services and development plan in Daraa, particularly in terms of providing electricity in all areas, and rehabilitating health centers and schools and the Damascus University branch there.

The Cabinet also tasked the Tourism Ministry with reviewing the performance of tourist facilities in general and hotels and particular during the current season and revising the prices of services.
