Damascus, SANA-Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halqi stressed the necessity of outlining necessary plans to confront the challenges hobbling the implementation of the humanitarian response plan in 2015.
Al-Halqi, who presided over meeting with the Higher Relief Committee to discuss the challenges confronting relief work and proposals to improve it, said the meeting “is meant to be a follow-up on and an assessment of the committee’s work, to allocate responsibilities and reduce centralization where found.”
President Bashar al-Assad is closely following up on the Committee’s work and performance, the premier added, indicating that the government “is implementing President al-Assad’s directives.”
He reiterated that the government is shouldering its responsibilities in getting humanitarian and relief aid to citizens in every house despite persistent terrorist attacks on aid convoys.
Al-Halqi ordered that the Committee prepare round-the-clock, accurate and updated data base on the displaced citizens for making sound decisions in this regard.
Minister of Social Affairs Kinda al-Shammat, who is current chairperson of the Committee, gave a thorough review of its work mechanisms and the role of every ministry, institution and body in implementing the humanitarian response plan.
