Russia blames US-led Coalition’s lack of coordination with Syrian government for ISIS seizure of US weapons

Moscow, SANA-Russian Foreign Ministry said the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization has seized US weapons because the US refused to cooperate with the Syrian government in the war on terror.

“There is no coordination whatsoever between the Coalition and Damascus because Washington insists on not acknowledging the Syrian government as a partner in the war against terrorism,”  the RT website quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich as saying during a press conference  in Moscow.

“This lack of coordination”, he added, “has led to weapons dropped by US aircrafts on the Syrian city of Ayn al-Arab winding up in the hands of ISIS terrorists.”

Lukashevich said the aerial bombardment of the US-led Coalition on ISIS targets has “no special effect”, pointing out that the Syrian army’s airstrikes against ISIS positions far exceed those carried out by the Coalition.

“The Syrian army launches upwards of 150 strikes per day, while the Coalition’s, for all its capacities, range between 10 and 15 , which at times drop to 5-7,” he said.
