Cabinet approves bill regulating firefighting affairs

Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet approved on Tuesday a bill regulating the affairs of firefighting and a proposal for permitting the transportation of cotton crops outside administrative borders.

Chairing the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi called for providing the requirements of agricultural production, particularly seed and fertilizer, in addition to ensuring that grain mills are functioning.

He also called for curbing infringements in market prices and transport fees, asserting the government’s commitment to bolstering economic relations with friendly countries, adding that the upcoming meetings of the Syrian-Russian Joint Committee should expand cooperation between the two countries and may lead to opening a credit line with Russia.

Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem briefed the Cabinet members on the latest political developments in the region.
