Provinces, SANA – Speeding up the implementation of the project of increasing capacity of Lattakia electric converter station, the project of Salhab-Masyaf electric cable, increasing capacity of converters in several areas in the countryside of Lattakia and Hama, the establishment of a new emergency center in Beit Yashout town and the quick response to citizens’ complaints with regards to the cut-off electricity were the main outcomes of the field visit paid by Electricity Minister Mohammad Zuhair Kharboutli to several areas in the Provinces of Lattakia, Tartous and Hama.
Minister Kharboutli stressed in a meeting with Directors of Electricity Company in Lattakia importance of operating the suspended turbines, calling for strictness in curbing the illicit dragging of electricity.
He inspected the work of Lattakia convertor station in terms of increasing its capacity with a cost of three billions SYP for tackling the coercive rationing of electricity due to the excessive load.
The Minister also inspected the situation of electricity technical teams and emergency workers in Banias generating station.
He was briefed on the complaints of citizens in the towns of Beit Yashout and Ain al-Sharqiya in the countryside of Jableh city, urging Lattakia Electricity Company to increase the capacity of a number of converters in addition to establishing new converting centers for securing the electricity supply to the bakery of Ain al-Sharqiya.
In Hama Province, the Minister inspected the project of Salhab-Masyaf electricity cable(25 km long)that is implemented with a cost of two billions SYP for securing an additional electricity supply source to the area.
