Damascus, SANA- The People’s Assembly convened Wednesday in a session headed by Speaker Hammoudeh Sabbagh, discussing performance of the Social Affairs Ministry’s work plan.
The MPs called for setting work plans to fight beggary and homelessness, offering more services for the elderly people, and providing mental disability special centers with needed equipment.
The Minister of Social Affairs Rima al-Qadiri said that a rural development center that offers medical services and a kindergarten will be inaugurated in the near future.
Al-Qadiri added that the ministry set up offices in the provinces to combat beggary and integrate the victims of this phenomenon.
