Syrian Virtual University celebrates graduation of 140 students

Damascus, SANA – The Syrian Virtual University (SVU) organized an official ceremony to celebrate the graduation of more than 140 students from different academic years and Master’s degree programs at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts in the attendance of Vice President and President of trustees council at the SVU, Dr. Najah al-Attar.

Speaking at the ceremony, sponsor of the event and SVU Rector, Khalil al-‘Ajami, called on the new graduates to have an active role and make change in soceity, underlining the important role of the university as part of the solid higher education system in Syria in terms of equipping students with essential skills required in the labor market today.

He indicated that there are more than 130.000 students who are studying at the SVU, highlighting the unremitting efforts exerted to maintain a global position in teaching, research and innovation and have a place in the prestigious ranking of the world’s leading universities with the aim of building a new generation which will contribute to the enhancement of economic development and the reconstruction of their country.

The Syrian Virtual University (SVU) is an accredited state university established by Legislative Decree No. (25) in 2002. SVU is working to provide a modern learning, training and research system in the academic and vocational fields to enable the learner and the trainee to engage effectively and directly in the labor market by developing their skills and regional needs in science and technology.
