Aleppo’s Bustan al-Qaser power substation returns to service

Aleppo, SANA – Bustan al-Qaser power substation in Aleppo returns into service after rehabilitation and maintenance work by local experts and staff that cost SYP 3 billion.

Prime Minister Imad Khamis announced that the substation is back online on Saturday after inspecting work in it along with the accompanying governmental delegation.

Khamis emphasized the importance of rehabilitating all elements of the power grid in Aleppo, adding that the electricity sector was exposed to systematic destruction and vandalism by terrorists, adding that providing electricity is a major factor for economic development in Aleppo.

For his part, Electricity Minister Mohammad Zuhair Kharboutli said that the terrorists groups had destroyed all the equipment in Bustan al-Qaser power substation, but that the Ministry’s staff and work teams have managed to repair the substation, which now powers Bustan al-Qaser area and industrial facilities in it and in al-Kallaseh area.
