Higher Education Ministry, WHO discuss cooperation in supporting university hospitals

Damascus, SANA – Minister of Higher Education Atef al-Naddaf met on Wednesday the Resident Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) Elizabeth Hoff and discussed with her means to enhance joint cooperation in the field of supporting the University hospitals with required supplies and training the medical staff.

During the meeting, the Minister affirmed the importance of the joint work between the two sides in responding to health needs in the current circumstances, especially after the targeting of the health sector and the destruction of a number of hospitals as a result of attacks by terrorist organizations.

In turn, Hoff pointed out that the organization has supplied the educational hospitals in the last five years with modern medical equipment and has recently rehabilitated the emergency department at al-Mouwasat Hospital in Damascus at a cost of USD 369, and is currently working on equipping al-Baath University Hospital.
