Authorities uncover large amounts of weapons and explosives left behind by terrorists in al-Waer neighborhood

Homs, SANA – The authorities uncovered a workshop for manufacturing explosives while combing al-Waer neighborhood in Homs city.

SANA’s correspondent in Homs said that the authorities, in cooperation with engineering units from the Syrian Arab Army, uncovered a large workshop for manufacturing explosives, seizing large amounts of explosive devices and homemade rocket shells of various sizes and types, along with materials and equipment for making IEDs, shells, and explosive belts, including acetone peroxide, a highly explosive and unstable material.

The correspondent added that the authorities also uncovered a 70-meters-long tunnel extending from al-Waer to a hospital and the criminal security department which terrorists had used to sneak around and attack locals and army checkpoints, adding that 23 mm rounds, a mortar launcher, and 14.5 mm machineguns scuttled by the terrorists before leaving were also found in the 7th block in the neighborhood.
