Damascus, SANA – Industry Minister Ahmad al-Hamo discussed on Thursday with Ambassador of South Africa in Damascus Shaun Byneveldt the fields of industrial cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides discussed the possibility of benefiting from the technologies and industrial expertise in South Africa to develop the capabilities of industrial companies in Syria.
In turn, Arnous affirmed the Ministry’s readiness to provide the required facilitations to establish industrial projects in cooperation with the South African companies, particularly in the fields of producing medicines and glass hollowware and the investment of basalt stone for the production of basalt rock wool, tubes and pipes, in addition to cooperation in the field of renewable energies and industrial sectors.
For his part, Byneveldt expressed his country’s keenness to improve economic relations with Syria and to invite businessmen in his country to invest in Syria and set up joint industrial projects and contribute to the reconstruction process.
He pointed out to the possibility of benefiting from the services and support provided by the BRICS Development Bank in establishing projects and investments in Syria.
