Beirut, SANA – Head of the Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun discussed with Syria’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul-Karim the development in the region and the terrorist threats.
In remarks after the meeting, Ambassador Abdul-Karim said the terrorist groups wreaking havoc in Syria, Lebanon, and the region are supported and funded by external sides and countries.
He stressed that terrorism has no religion and it should not enjoy any international cover or overlooking. “If the agreements signed between Syria and Lebanon had been implemented, terrorism would not have existed in the first place,” he said.
Abdul-Karim called upon all countries and sides which are supporting or funding terrorism to pay attention to the risks that this terrorism could pose on all countries, including theirs.
On the Syrians who left their countries to avoid the crimes of the terrorist groups, Abdul-Karim said the Syrian government is ready to provide all services that would allow them to return to their homeland and it has repeatedly demanded coordination between the Syrian and Lebanese governments to this end.
He called for differentiating between the terrorists and those who were forced to leave their homeland due to the crimes committed by the terrorists against them.
