Moscow, SANA – Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdullahian said Russia and Iran will continue their support to Syria and working on reaching a solution to the crisis there.
In a press conference held in Moscow on Tuesday, Abdullahian said that the two sides will continue sending humanitarian aid and exerting efforts to accelerate reaching a political settlement.
He stressed that the Russian and Iranian policies have foiled the U.S. attempts and schemes against Syria.
He highlighted that the “Islamic State in Iraq and Syria” (ISIS) is a result of the U.S. policies in Syria, adding that the terrorist organization is a tool used by the US to achieve its goals in the region.
Abdullahian said that the financial support which U.S. President Barack Obama pledged to provide to the Syrian “opposition” has turned into weapons’ shipments that reach the terrorist groups, including ISIS, which indicates that the U.S. aid aims at killing the Syrian people.
