Damascus, SANA – Health Minister Nizar Yazigi stressed the need for improving the quality of health services offered by al-Bassel Center for
Heart Surgery in Dummar so that it will remain one of the best medical centers in Syria.
While inspecting the work in the Center’s departments and meeting its staff, the Minister pointed out that offering good health services and
improving the staff’s skills are two of the most
important elements for improving the Center’s performance.
He called for offering clear proposals for developing work in the Center and for consulting with the doctors in this regard, noting that the system for distributing incentives in the Center will be changed to be more fair.
Director General of the Center Dr. Dyab Fa’aouri said that the Board of Directors is discussing several issues such as the shortage of nursing
staff and offering free emergency services.
He added that the project for expanding the Center has reached 90% completion, including the building of 6 levels with 160 beds for patients, 36 beds for intensive care, and 6 operation rooms.
