Provinces, SANA – 379 wanted persons from Damascus, Damascus countryside, Homs, Quneitra, Idleb, Lattakia, Hama, Sweida, Aleppo, Raqqa and al-Hasaka provinces turned themselves in to the authorities to have their legal status settled.
Earlier, 71 gunmen from Homs city and countryside have had their legal status settled after turning themselves in and handing their weapons over to authorities and pledging not to get involved in any act that might harm the homeland’s security.
The gunmen who had their status settled come from several neighborhoods in Homs city and the towns and villages of al-Breij, Mahin, Hawarin, al-Jdaideh al-Sharqieh, al-Qusair, Ezzeddin, al-Rayyan, Talkalakh, and al-Dar al-Kabira.
Secretary of Homs branch of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Subhi Harb affirmed that the flurry of reconciliations in the province is a significant step forward, hailing the efforts of local authorities and members of the National Meeting of National Reconciliations in Homs in making reconciliations happen at a rapid pace.
A number of the persons who had their status settled pledged to mend their ways and turn over a new leaf, calling on those who have persisted on a wrong path to follow suit.
