Russian Defense Ministry: US-led coalition destroys Syrian infrastructure and excludes oil sites seized by ISIS

Moscow, SANA – The Russian Defense Ministry affirmed that the international coalition led by the US contributes to supporting ISIS with millions of dollars monthly as it helps in joining new mercenaries to its ranks because it doesn’t target ISIS gatherings in the oil sites that are under its control in Syria.

In a statement on Wednesday, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that the international coalition had been methodically and consistently destroying the economic infrastructure of Syria to weaken its legitimate government, in spite of all the ensuing hardships for civilians that resulted in the flows of millions of refugees.
Konashenkov pointed out that the airstrikes of the coalition did not target oil extraction facilities seized by ISIS, thus allowing militants to earn tens of millions of US dollars monthly and recruit new mercenaries in its ranks, stressing that Washington will be forced to bear responsibility for all of that, sooner or later.

He added that Washington is pursuing a scorched-earth policy in Syria and around the world.

Konashenkov pointed out that the Syrian Army, in cooperation with Russian Aerospace Forces, was able to eliminate 35,000 terrorists, including 204 field leaders.

He pointed out to the results achieved by Russia to resolve the crisis in Syria, particularly reaching a cessation of hostilities and the start the preparations for the Syrian-Syrian dialogue in the Kazakh capital of Astana, all of which was achieved without the US administration.
