Damascus Countryside Governor: Brutal terrorism targets all states and civilizations

Cordoba, SANA- Damascus Countryside Governor Alaa Mounir Ibrahim stressed that Syria in its war against the terrorist organizations is not only defending its land and sovereignty, but it also defends the security, safety and freedom of all countries of the world, affirming that the brutal terrorism doesn’t only target a certain state or region, but it also aims to undermine all the states and civilizations.

Delivering Syria’s speech at the International Festivity on the Heritage Economy held in the Spanish city of Cordoba on Friday, Ibrahim referred to the horrifying crimes perpetrated by the terrorist organizations in Syria, Iraq and Libya and earlier in Afghanistan like destroying the archeological monuments and robbing and selling them.

He called upon all the parties and bodies participating in the festivity to cooperate and work seriously for preserving the archeological and humanitarian heritage and for making it a great productive power in the contemporary world.

“Talking about Damascus means talking about Andalusia, Cordoba, Granada, Seville and Alhambra,” Ibrahim said, indicating that Damascus is the oldest inhabited capital in history and that it is the cradle of the heavenly messages and that it exported the alphabet, poetry, philosophy and sciences to the whole world.

He called for uniting ranks for fighting terrorism, indicating to the great advances achieved by Syria in its war against terrorism.

At the conclusion of the speech, Ibrahim presented a documentary on the historical humanitarian civilization and the deeply rooted heritage in Syria and a video that shows the brutality of the terrorist organizations which target the archeological and religious sites in Syria, particularly in Aleppo, Sednaya, Ma’aloula and Palmyra.
