Grand Mufti calls on European countries to not turn a deaf ear to the terrorists’ crimes in Syria

Dublin, SANA – Syria’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, called on European countries to work for peace and not turn a deaf ear to the massacres committed by the terrorists in Syria.

In a speech addressing the Irish Parliament in Dublin, Mufti Hassoun invited the Europeans to visit Syria and to see for themselves the terrorists’ crimes and not rely for information on what is being published by the misleading media outlets that aim at giving a false picture of the situation in Syria.

Mufti Hassoun noted that Syria has paid heavy price because of the flow of terrorists who swept the country, including 300,000 terrorists who came from Europe and areas around the world.

He briefed the Irish Parliament on the progress of the local reconciliations taking place in many areas in Syria brokered by the Syrian state that have opened the door to a large number of gunmen to drop arms and return to their normal lives.

He also briefed the Parliament on the crimes of the “opposition” forces, as called by some western countries, in Aleppo who attack civilians with thousands of shells and chemical weapons, claiming the lives of many already, including children and women.

Grand Mufti is on a visit to Ireland upon an official invitation extended by the Irish Parliament, along with Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All the East Gregorios III Laham and Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East Mar Ignatius Aphrem II.
