Damascus, SANA-The Damascus Platform “Minassat Dimashq” for National Dialogue preparatory committee convened Saturday its first session in Qassr al-Qaysar Hotel in Damascus.
The participants underlined the importance of political solution for the crisis in Syria through dialogue among the Syrians and bolstering capabilities of the Syrian army against terrorism.
They also stressed the need for the Syrian government to take part in national dialogue initiatives, calling for forming a delegation of political, party and social figures to participate in Geneva talks as a unified national team.
Member of the Committee Maher Merhej told SANA reporter that the Platform seeks to organize dialogue between loyalist and opposition powers with the aim to reach “a comprehensive conference,” disclosing that another dialogue sessions will ensue in all provinces until a political solution which is in everyone’s interests is reached.
