Moscow, SANA- Russian Defense Ministry affirmed on Monday that samples taken in al-Nairab area to the east of Aleppo prove that terrorist organizations had used shells that contain toxic gases.
Russian Defense Ministry’s spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said that the samples taken by Russian officers of the Scientific Center of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Security in Karm al-Jazmati in al-Nairab area proved that terrorists in Aleppo used chlorine poisonous substance.
Konashenkov added that the shelling caused the injury of 30 persons who were rushed to a hospital in the city of Aleppo.
He affirmed that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) experts should investigate chemical weapons’ use in Aleppo and not politicized workers in the humanitarian field, calling on the OPCW to send representatives of fact-finding missions as soon as possible to Aleppo to cooperate with representatives of the Russian Defense Ministry experts.
Terrorist groups located in the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo targeted on Sunday afternoon al-Nairab area with mortar shells containing chlorine, causing scores of injuries among civilians and military personnel.
