Damascus, SANA –Minister of Industry in the caretaker government, Kamal Eddin Touma, discussed with Ambassador of South Africa in Damascus, Shaun Byneveldt, economic and industrial cooperation.
Minister Touma stressed that Syria is committed to enhance relations with South Africa and make use of its experience and capabilities during the reconstruction process and developing the industrial sector.
He pointed out to the huge losses of the industrial sector due to the unjust economic siege imposed on Syria by several Arab and western countries which are funding the armed terrorist organizations.
For his part, Ambassador Byneveldt stressed his country’s commitment to bolster economic ties with Syria, welcoming signing a memorandum of understanding for industrial cooperation between his country and Syria.
