Damascus, SANA –Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, stressed the unity of destiny between Syria and Palestine during the difficult stage going on in the two countries, asserting Syria’s support to the Palestinian people against the genocide launched by Israel on the Palestinians.
Meeting a delegation of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, headed by Ahmad Majdalani, Mikdad expressed the support of the Syrian leadership and people to the Palestinian people to practice their right of determining their destiny and build their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
He also expressed the satisfaction of the Syrian leadership over the national unity shown by the Palestinian people against the unjust Israeli aggression.
For his part, Dr. Majdalani stressed that his visit to Syria is aimed at briefing the Syrian leadership on the ongoing events on the Palestinian arena and coordinating on facing the unilateral war launched by Israel against the Palestinian people.
He highlighted the pivotal role played by Syria in the region, considering that the absence of this role will have negative effects on the Palestinian cause.
In the same context, the Palestinian delegation expressed satisfaction over the improvement of the situation in al-Yarmouk Camp through the continuation of delvering humanitarian aid and the return of the residents to the camp.
The delegation hailed the efforts exerted by the Syrian government to ensure the success of the Camp agreement and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the residents.
