Assaad Samoukan awarded gold medal for his art at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris

Damascus, SANA – Artist Mohammad Assaad Samoukan was awarded a gold medal after he showcased his latest art collection at the Carrousel du Louvre in the French capital, Paris.

Samoukan was invited to display his works of arts at the Louvre by the Superior School of Fine Arts in Paris along with other artists from Brazil, France, Argentina, England, Morocco and Syria, including graphic designers, painters, photographers and sculptors.

In a statement to SANA, Samoukan, who couldn’t attend the honoring ceremony, said he was awarded the gold medal for his various cultural and artistic interests, including his poetic and storytelling experience.

He noted that the award went to his work titled “The Alphabet of the Blue”, depicting to a large extent the God Baal myth showing a triumphant Baal and a Baal in a state of ecstasy.
