Damascus, SANA – As part of its initiative for supporting families of martyrs and women, Syriatel signed a memo of understanding with the General Women’s Union for providing training courses for 1,000 women from the families of martyrs.
The courses include hairdressing, makeup, crochet, and knitting courses.
Syriatel Executive Director-General Majeda Saqer said that this agreement and the partnership with the Women’s Union part of the efforts to bear social responsibility and to serve as an example in the Syrian society, noting that Syriatel’s support programs focus on women because they are an integral and active part of society.
She pointed out that Syriatel’s program for supporting families of martyrs benefits over 6,500 families.
In turn, head of the Social Responsibility Department at Syriatel Faten Shalabi said that this new initiative follows a previous one that allowed 1,000 women to become self-reliant and to provide for their families.
For her part, head of the General Women’s Union Raghda Ahmad lauded the strong cooperation between the Union and Syriatel, saying that this cooperation seeks to provide training that will allow families of martyrs to improve their social and economic status.
