Damascus, SANA – An official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry took a swipe at the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, criticizing his failure once again to respect the most basic requirements of the responsibilities entrusted to him, most importantly sincerity, integrity and independence.
In a statement to SANA, the source said the UN Secretary General “has repeatedly harmed the credibility and objectivity of the UN having made it subject to the will of some sides and made himself a party in the problems sweeping our world today without showing the least commitment to the ethics and requirements of his mission as per the principles and goals of the UN Charter.”
The source lashed out at Ban Ki-moon for “shamelessly” dropping the special report on the violations committed against children in Yemen due to the Saudi aggression, saying this move has done “indelible” historic harm to the UN organization.
The source also criticized the UN Secretary General for accepting to act in accordance with the policies of some countries towards Syria, which makes him legally and morally accountable for the current situation.
The source cited the Secretary General’s contribution to providing, along with others, political cover for the Takfiri terrorism, as well as issuing baseless statements lacking proof and getting involved in the misleading of the public opinion and the propaganda targeting Syria.
