Al-Moallem: Syria bent on combating terrorism and reaching political solution for crisis

Damascus, SANA-Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem received on Monday Czech Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Martin Tlapa and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the bilateral relations between Syria and the Czech Republic and means to enhance and develop them in all fields, in addition to discussing the developments in the situation in Syria and the region.

Al-Moallem reviewed the efforts exerted by Syria in the fight against Takfiri terrorism practiced by terrorist organizations that are included on the UN list of terrorist organizations such as ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra, which are supported by well-known regional and international powers.

He asserted that Syria is fighting terrorism on behalf of the world, especially that the terrorist attacks that took place in Europe and other countries in the world have proven that terrorism has no boundaries.al-moallem-czech-tapla-2

The minister stressed Syria’s determination to combat terrorism and efforts to reach a political solution for the crisis in it, expressing Syria’s appreciation for the stances of the Czech Republic towards Syria, namely the humanitarian aid provided to the Syrian people from the friendly Czech people.

In turn, Tlapa said his country hopes that a quick solution to the crisis in Syria will be reached, expressing willingness to contribute to any efforts that will help in finding such a solution and readiness to help in rebuilding Syria.

The Czech official affirmed that his visit to Syria came as an expression of the friendship that binds the two countries, stressing the importance of maintaining communication between the officials of Syria and the Czech Republic.

In the same context, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad met Tlapa and his accompanying delegation, briefing them on the reality of humanitarian services provided by the Syrian government to its citizens in all areas.mikdad-czech-tapla

Mikdad highlighted during the meeting the suffering of the Syrian people due to the unilateral economic sanctions imposed on Syria.

For his part, Tlapa said that he was deeply touched by his meeting with a number of displaced people during his visit to a temporary housing center in Herjaleh, affirming that the Czech government will continue to provide humanitarian aid to all Syrian areas.

The Czech official hoped that peace will return to all Syrian areas soon.
