Czech Deputy Foreign Minister affirm his country is working to improve conditions to help the Syrian people

Damascus, SANA – Czech Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Martin Tlapa stressed the need for finding a solution for the crisis in Syria, asserting that the Czech Republic is working on the European level to improve conditions to help the Syrian people.

In a statement to journalists upon his arrival at Damascus International Airport on Sunday, Tlapa said “we hope that we can contribute to a quick solution for the crisis in Syria. We arrived as friends of Syria, as friendship must be expressed in difficult times.”

The Minister said that he is bringing humanitarian aid from the Czech people to the Syrian people, and that he will be holding talks with Syrian officials, adding that this visit follows up on the talks held by the Czech and Syrian foreign ministers in New York in September.

In turn, Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Aiman Sousan said the aid provided by the Czech Republic is part of the Czech efforts to help Syria confront the difficulties spawned by the terrorist aggression targeting it.

Sousan said Syria appreciates the Czech government’s objective and balanced positions regarding Syria, unlike those who shed crocodile tears while being responsible for the situation in Syria due to their support in Syria or for imposing unjust, unilateral, and illegal sanctions.
