30 tons of yeast and salt arrive to besieged city of Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor, SANA-The Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Directorate in Deir Ezzor received on Wednesday 15 tons of yeast and 15 tons of salt which were dropped by Syrian and Russian air forces through parachutes during the few past days.

Head of the Directorate Kamal Eddin al-Dily said in a statement to SANA reporter that the staff of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) and competent authorities transported the aid from the place where it was dropped during the past few days, adding that these quantities will ensure the continuation of the bakeries’ work in the city for at least two months.

He pointed out that there are five bakeries working in the city and producing around 12 tons of bread in addition to two other bakeries which are out of service due to the decrease in fuel as a result of the blockade imposed on the city by ISIS terrorist organization.

For over two years, the city of Deir Ezzor has been under a crippling blockade by ISIS which prevents the entry of food, medicines and fuel to the residents of the city, and the Syrian and Russian air forces are providing these substances for the citizens by dropping them via parachutes.
