Indonesian Ambassador: Terrorist attacks against innocent people in Syria regrettable

Homs, SANA-Indonesian Ambassador to Syria Djoko Harjanto visited on Thursday a number of archaeological and tourist sites in Homs.

The visit includes al-Nouri al-Kabir Mosque, Um al-Zinnar Church, Krak des Chevaliers and the tourist and ancient archeological old markets.

During the visit, the Indonesian Ambassador and Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi inspected the repair works that took place after stability and security had been restored to the old city and the markets area.

The governor briefed the Ambassador on the rehabilitation works in the city in cooperation with Homs governorate, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the local community.

Following his visit to the old city, the Ambassador said in a statement to reporters that the terrorist attacks against the innocent people in Syria are regrettable, adding that his country has sent reporters to keep up with what is happening in Syria to convey the true image to the Indonesian people away from what has been broadcast by tendentious media outlets.

The ambassador’s visit to Homs came on the occasion of launching the events of the Indonesian cinematic days which will last till tomorrow by screening a number of Indonesian movies.
