Moscow, SANA – The Russian President’s Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed on Friday with Syria’s Ambassador in Moscow Riyad Haddad issues related to resolving the crisis in Syria.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the two sides exchanged viewpoints on resolving the crisis on the basis of the Geneva statement issued in June 30th 2012, UN Security Council resolutions, and the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) decisions, which would entail supporting a comprehensive intra-Syrian dialogue without preconditions to decide upon the features of a unifying, renewable, and sovereign Syrian state that guarantees the rights of all its citizens.
The two sides also discussed the matter of fighting terrorist threats in the Middle East on the basis of international law, which means respecting the sovereignty and integrity of the region’s states.
