Eight new breaches of cessation of hostilities agreement observed in Lattakia and Damascus

Lattakia, SANA – The cessation of hostilities agreement was breached eight more times by terrorist groups in the past 24 hours in Lattakia and Damascus provinces, the Russian center monitoring the agreement said on Wednesday.

The Center, based in Hmeimim air base, added in a statement that the so-called “Jaish al-Islam” terrorist organization targeted with mortar shells the towns of Hawsh Nasri, al-Nashabiyeh, Harasta, al-Qaboun, Erbin, Douma in Damascus Countryside and Joubar neighborhood east of Damascus and terrorists from the so-called “Ahrar al-Sham” shelled Shalaf Citadel in Lattakia countryside.

The center pointed out that the number of towns that have joined the agreement of the cessation of hostilities in Syria reached 371, while the number of armed groups that have declared their adherence to the principles of the agreement remained 69.

The center highlighted that two tons of humanitarian aid were delivered to the locals of Homs city and two other tons of humanitarian aid were delivered to Salib al-Turkman area in Lattakia province.

According to the center, a Russian plane dropped 21 tons of humanitarian aid presented by the United Nations containing amounts of cereals, sugar and salt to the ISIS-besieged Deir Ezzor city.

The cessation of hostilities agreement does not include ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council.
