Reconciliation agreement in the Russian Coordination Center includes 23 villages in Lattakia northern countryside

Lattakia, SANA- A reconciliation agreement was struck on Monday in the Russian Coordination Center at Hmeimeem Airport including 23 villages in the northern countryside of Lattakia with the participation of representatives from Lattakia province and mayors and dignitaries from the villages included in the agreement.

Head of the Russian Coordination Center Gen. Sergei Shoarkov said that the reconciliation aims at restoring stability to these villages, noting that reconciliation is a prelude to a new stage in which problems will be peacefully solved.

“The Syrian people are wonderful and deserve to live peacefully,” Shoarkov said, adding that Syria suffered a lot and it is time to change that with the efforts of the Syrians themselves and the help of friends.

In a statement to SANA, Colonel Alexander Selvanov said that the Russian center is seeking to expand the reconciliation to cover all villages, noting that the Russian aid includes providing humanitarian and food aid to the affected people in the framework of Russia’s support for the Syrian government.

Selvanov pointed out that a lot of Syrians who emigrated to Europe and Turkey due to the crisis want to return to Syria. “We are exerting efforts to return them to their homeland,” he added.
