Damascus, SANA – Temperatures remain around or slightly above average in most areas as the country is influenced by the Indian low pressure system accompanied by southwestern air currents in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
In its Thursday bulletin, the Meteorology Department expected hot and summery weather to prevail, with the skies being clear to partly cloudy in general.
The weather will be hot and misty in the eastern, al-Badiya (desert) and al-Jazira areas and the wind will be westerly to southwesterly of light to moderate speed. The sea waves will be low to medium in amplitude, according to the bulletin.
The expected temperatures in some major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 37/22, Daraa 34/23, Homs 33/22, Lattakia 31/21, Aleppo 38/24 and Deir Ezzor 44/23.
